Kenacomb – 15g Topical Cream

Available at Pharmaegy Pharmacy. Use as directed by your doctor.

Intro: Kenacomb is a highly effective "4-in-1" multi-purpose skin treatment produced by SmithKline Beecham. It is designed to simplify the treatment of complex skin conditions by combining four active ingredients: a potent steroid (Triamcinolone), two antibiotics (Neomycin and Gramicidin), and an antifungal (Nystatin). This makes it a "rescue cream" for skin issues where you aren't sure if the cause is an allergy, bacteria, or fungus. Indications: Infected Eczema: Treats itchy, red skin that has developed a secondary bacterial or fungal infection. Severe Diaper Rash: Used for stubborn rashes in babies where a fungal infection (Candidiasis) is suspected. Intertrigo: Redness and infection in skin folds (armpits, under breasts, groin). Skin Rashes: Relieves intense itching and inflammation while killing germs. How to Use: Dosage: Apply a thin layer to the affected area 2 to 3 times daily. Application: Clean and dry the area before applying. Rub in gently until the cream disappears. Duration: Do not use for more than 7 days unless directed by a doctor. Using steroids for too long can thin the skin. Crucial Rules: Avoid Large Areas: Do not apply over large parts of the body, especially on infants, as the skin can absorb the medicine into the bloodstream. No Bandages: Do not cover the treated area with a tight bandage or plastic wrap unless told by a doctor; this increases absorption and the risk of side effects. Face Caution: Use very sparingly on the face. Long-term use on the face can cause permanent skin thinning or "steroid acne." Pregnancy: Consult a doctor first; Neomycin and steroids should be used with caution during pregnancy. Generic International Brands: Viaderm-KC, Tri-Statin, Panderm.
