It combines two different types of blood pressure medications: Bisoprolol (5mg), a beta-blocker, and Hydrochlorothiazide (12.5mg), a diuretic (water pill). This "Plus" version is typically prescribed when a single medication isn't enough to bring high blood pressure down to a safe level. Indications: Essential Hypertension: Treating high blood pressure that requires more than one mechanism to control. Fluid Retention: Helping the body get rid of excess salt and water through the urine while simultaneously managing heart rate. Cardiac Protection: Reducing the overall workload on the heart and lowering the long-term risk of stroke or heart attack. How to Use: Dosage: Usually one tablet daily, taken in the morning. Application: Swallow the tablet whole with water. You can take it with or without food, but taking it at the same time every day is key for stability. Diuretic Effect: Because it contains a diuretic, it may increase urination. Taking it in the morning helps avoid having to wake up during the night to use the bathroom. Crucial Rules: Do Not Stop Abruptly: Just like standard Concor, stopping "Plus" suddenly can cause a dangerous spike in blood pressure. Your doctor must taper the dose.
